Dr. Jing Sun obtained her phD in polymer chemistry and physics at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009. She then got Humboldt postdoc fellowship and spent one year and a half at the Max Plank Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Germany. In 2010, she moved to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) as a postdoc fellow. She was promoted to be a project scientist in LBNL in 2014. In 2015, she moved to Qingdao University of Science and Technology as a full professor. In 2021, she joined the faculty of Jilin University as a full Professor.
The principal effort of our research program is on synthesis and property of bioinspired polymers that mimic the structure of natural proteins such as polypeptides and polypeptoids, smart hydrogels, antibacterial polymers and biomedical polymer materials.
