Short Biography

Ming Wang was born in 1981 in Suihua, Heilongjiang. He received a B.S. degree in Polymer Chemistry and Material in 2000 and a Ph. D. in Polymer Physics and Chemistry in 2010 from Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences. His postdoctoral research at Texas State University (2013.01-2016.07) and Nanyang Technological University (2011.2-2012.11) are about supramolecular chemistry and materials chemistry. He joined the faculty of Jilin University as a full Professor in July 2016.

Research Interest

The primary focus of research is supramolecular chemistry and architecture via self-assembly. Obtained information in synthesis, self-assembly, and characterization of supramolecules was used to advance the design and self-assembly of supramolecules. Ultimately allow supramolecular functionality into supramolecular architectures with molecular level precision. Research interests include:

1) Design, synthesis and self-assembly of novel supramolecules using multitopic ligands, which provide more the density of coordination sites (DOCS) to increase the stability of assemblies.

2) Characterization of supramolecules using mass spectrometry: Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization (MALDI), Electrospray Ionization (ESI) and Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry (IM-MS).

3) Exploring the applications of these assemblies in diverse fields, such as single-molecule conductivity, host−guest chemistry, and catalysis.
