Short Biography
Yuetao Zhang was born in 1977 in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang. He received a B.S. degree in Chemistry in 1999 and a Ph. D. in Organic Chemistry in 2004 from Jilin University. He served as a Lecturer in Jilin University from 2004 to 2006. He joined Prof. Eugene Chen’s Lab at Colorado State University as Postdoctoral Fellow since 2006 and was promoted as Research Scientist II starting from November, 2009. He joined the faculty of Jilin University as a full Professor in September 2013. The research interest of Zhang’s Group is mainly focused on the development of renewable energy and sustainable polymers.
Research Interest
Sustainable polymers from renewable feedstocks; Non-food biomass derived fine chemicals and biofuels; Polymer synthesis by Frustrated Lewis Pairs; The living/controlled polymerization of polar vinyl monomers by organometallics or carbenes; Stereospecific polymerization by silylium catalysts.
