Matthias Wagner is a Full Professor (C4) of inorganic chemistry at the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt. He studied chemistry at the LMU Munich and received the Chemistry Diploma supervised by Professor H. Nöth in 1994. He finished his dissertation at the LMU Munich, again supervised by Prof. H. Nöth, in 1992 and he did his habilitation at the TU Munich with Prof. W. A. Hermann in 1997. He carried out research associate work at Oxford University and TU Munich. After that, he joined the faculty at Goethe-Universität Frankfurt as a C3 Professor. He has won several awards, including the award of the "Chemistry Industry Fonds", a postdoc grant of the "German Science Foundation", the "Karl-Winnacker award" of the Hoechst AG, the "Heisenberg award" of the "German Science Foundation", and he became a member of the "Polytechnical Society Frankfurt" in 2014. Prof. Wagner is the corresponding author of approximately 230 peer-reviewed publications and has given more than 100 scientific lectures. He became the regular reviewer for all major chemistry journals since 1999, and served to several international science foundations, such as the "Alexander von Humboldt Foundation", NSF and ACS-PRF. His research interests are focused on organometallic chemistry, organoboron chemistry and organic materials chemistry.
